“WATER”
A denim jacket cut and sew by Max Hanke
OCT. 2019
This jacket was inspired by the natural world around us. I observed a stream and viewed the water curving around stones and creating streaks in the soil below the surface. This was embedded into the design and construction of the jacket. The constant downfall and fluidity I viewed as a parallel to the fast-paced society we live in. This is either a reaction to the never ending cycle of fast fashion or the rebirth of recycling. The curves are found in the seams of the denim, warping the classic trucker jacket construction. This piece received an honorable mention and is displayed in the juried Scholastic Arts exhibit in Connecticut.
